Big Spirit Drops the Music Video For "Wax Natural", Off Their "Jungle Of Love" Album

Big Spirit is a New York City based rock and roll band formed in 2016. The band has released the music video for their song “Wax Natural”, the first single from their sophomore album entitled “Jungle Of Love”.
Recorded in 2019 and produced in 2020, “Wax Natural” holds a mirror up to the current hysteria and turmoil engulfing the United States. Perched on the edge of destruction the track threatens to implode at any moment, building to a fever pitch while exhuming a litany against the myths of America. Dealing with themes of isolation, misinformation and general chaos, “Wax Natural” paints a violent portrait of how tarnished the American Dream has always been.
The video for “Wax Natural”, made in the uncertain early weeks of lockdown, takes clips mostly from old tv commercials and public service announcements and subverts them, imploring an antiquated animation technique known as synchro-vox. The results are both frightening and farcical with scenes of violent interaction; a cheerleader without a head & collages of heart surgery butt up against new born babies and a disembodied chorus line.
