Cuffed Up Share Their New Single "Meet The End"
/LA-based trio, Cuffed Up are sharing their new single, "Meet The End" which marks the final advance installment of their forthcoming debut album, “All You Got” – available as a limited edition eco-mix "Lucky Dip" vinyl – which is out via Hit the North Records on April 5. They will support the debut album release with a string of album launch headline shows including The Moroccan Lounge, Los Angeles on May 2.
The new single follows a successful run of shows as part of SXSW including a performance as part of the Paste Magazine showcase. It follows earlier support for album tracks such as "Mock Dance", "Little Wins" and "Finer Things" which found support at KCRW, Paste Magazine, Exclaim, The Line of Best Fit, Northern Transmissions and more. Earlier releases from Cuffed Up, such as Asymmetry and their self-titled debut EP found acclaim at KEXP (Song of the Day, Live Session), SPIN, Under the Radar and more.
When speaking about the new track, "Meet The End" guitarist/vocalist, Christina Apostolopoulos says: "Meet The End This is the tough love anthem for your friend who is perpetually choosing the wrong people to date. They can’t get past three weeks of seeing someone. You watch as their self-destruction extends in to other areas of their life, and you want to shake them out of it. There’s an anger and a helplessness in trying to save someone that doesn’t want to be helped."
Cuffed Up have a knack for distilling big dreams into sound. “All You Got” is filled with dreams of bigger stages, a more open heart and a more equitable society – in short, dreams that are swiftly dismissed as naive. For this Los Angeles three-piece, “anthemic” is not just an apt descriptor of their sound, it’s an ethos. In every swelling chorus, ardent guitar riff and rich cascade of cymbals is a seed of hope that things will take a turn for the better.
