Perth Duo Otiuh Share Debut EP "Cold Recreation" Ahead of Tour Next Month

Perth duo OTIUH are thrilled to share their debut, “Cold Recreation”. Containing previous singles, ‘Move’ and ‘Pink Gelato’, Cold Recreation is a collage of sound. A vision of life through rose coloured glasses and an exploration of bouncing back after overcoming personal struggles.
Members Cesare Papa and Jahmeil Baker offer a different perspective for hip hop in Australia, opting to focus on positivity and expressing vulnerability having made it out "the other side." Not afraid to own their experiences, Papa and Baker don’t shy away from difficult topics. Instead, they run towards them with an air of optimism to help you dance through anything.
Cesare Papa said of the EP, "Myself or Jahmeil never kept a journal. There's a vibrancy to life we're trying to provide a soundtrack to here. The most we've learnt about ourselves has happened during the times society deems least important. Self exploration through music, through moving and through making connections with others. That's what this is about. That's Cold Recreation."
With fierce flows and rapid rhymes, Otiuh bounce off each other as they ride eclectic beats through their many variations. With tracks resulting from both collaborative sessions with local talented producers and musicians, as well as some self-produced songs as well, Cold Recreation is a diverse and unpredictable body of work.
Beats that have been likened to El-P or Brockhampton make for a dynamic listening experience, and it’s here that Otiuh shine brightest. The more peculiar or eclectic the better for Papa and Baker, finding their stride in amongst the plethora of live instruments and vibrant samples.
To celebrate the release of Cold Recreation, Otiuh have also recently announced a debut national tour which will see them bring a full live band to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and a hometown show in Perth to wrap things up in true Otiuh style.
Promising electrifying performances, the Perth duo are gearing up to make sure their uplifting sounds are heard all the way over on the other side of the country this May, and are making sure these are not shows to be missed!
