Austin Based Rapper Abhi The Nomad Releases His "Marbled (Acoustic)" EP
/After kicking off the new year with his bar out Hip Hop slap, “FLUSH”, which landed in the coveted New Music Friday playlist on Spotify, Abhi The Nomad has been non-stop. From supporting Oliver Tree on his Ugly It Beautiful Tour, to performing on a number of stages and live streams at SXSW, the Austin implant has been full steam ahead into the EP’s release. Having already released two singles from the project, the full pack features 5 reinterpretations from last years debut album, “Marbled”, which has amassed 20M+ streams to date. With support and attention from tastemakers like NPR, Consequence of Sound and having already wrapped his own nationwide US tour with multiple sold-out venues, Abhi has won the hearts of many by putting his cultural and life experiences to song.
On the new project, It's hard not to love every track, as Abhi strips it down and brings a new energy to each fan favorite. Stand out track "Headcase" hooks you from the start as an acoustic guitar melody serves grounds the track and a subdued beat comes in as you hit the chorus, where Abhi breaks down his wall and sings "Somewhere along the way I lost myself." It's real, it's raw, and it's oh-so-catchy. About the new project, Abhi explains, "I love the idea of re-imagining music in different lights - Yet, I don't think remixes give way to more depth the same way unplugged or acoustic versions do. There's a different energy captured in these tracks and I think it highlights the songwriting behind these jams that people love mostly for musical qualities, helps you pick up on the words and why they were said when they were. Raw and unfiltered."
