I CAN START A BAND TOO is a music campaign based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin launched by Payton Stark, of the punk rock band Alternative Radio. The website is chock full of resources, and offers space for the community to network and discuss topics on its forum.
I CAN START A BAND TOO has also sat down with prominent figures in the Milwaukee music scene back in the 80's like Yipes!, Colour Radio, and 3 on Fire. Users will learn how to promote their music, how to get on college radio, book shows, and how to find success as a band, or a musician.
Founder Payton Stark started this music campaign because he saw the lack of education and direction that he and other burgeoning musicians had access to. Bloggers giving advice seemed disingenuous and unhelpful. Payton also wanted to help reignite the Milwaukee music scene and get it to its full potential again. Having a father who was part of the music scene in the ‘80s and after starting his own group, he wanted to change all of this and introduce I CAN START A BAND TOO.
