Voted 'Showcase Winner' at the Open Mic UK competition 2019, Edinburgh, UK based pop soul singer-songwriter Adonye B has been making an impact on the music scene since releasing his debut single “Do it cuz u wanna” in December 2020. Three of his singles have been played on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio 6 Introducing including his latest single “New Life” dedicated to healthcare workers. His songs have also been played on several other radio stations including Uckfield FM, Banks Radio Australia, Chief Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio, and Enjoy Radio. In addition to radioplay, his tracks have been featured on several Spotify Playlists including Spectoral’s ‘Ones to Watch’ playlist, reserved for ‘rising stars creating high calibre music’.

As seen in its music video, “New Life” was written to inspire togetherness in local communities; a topical issue given the recent pandemic events. It is an adult contemporary song wrapped around a piano-based melody with a steady building percussion. Adonye B did not want to write a “covid song” so he chose to use the scenario of an organ recipient thinking about the organ donor who saved their life; the organ recipient represents the millions of people treated during the pandemic and the organ donor represents the healthcare workers all around the world.

Speaking about his new release, Adonye B says “The amazing efforts of healthcare workers around the world during the pandemic inspired me to write this song. I chose to use the scenario of an organ recipient thinking of the organ donor who saved their life. The organ recipient represents the millions of covid patients successfully treated during the pandemic, and the organ donor is our healthcare system. I also wanted a sense of hope and community to come across in the song; the hope that we will cherish our communities much more now than we did before.”
