Peterborough, Ontario based alternative-pop artist Jayde has been attracting industry attention since her teens. Strongly influenced by Lights, she started teaching herself to play piano and guitar around the age of nine. Now finished high school, she is preparing to release her second EP, a sultry original offering.
This talented artist has just dropped her new single “Electricity”, as well as its visual. Speaking about her latest release, Jayde says, “Electricity” was born out of a heatwave, broken by a rainstorm like I had never seen before. I developed the song with my producer in Montreal, playing around on an old upright piano. At the time, I was going through a phase in my relationship that I wasn’t entirely conscious of. My subconscious took over my lyric writing and the words poured out of me. “Electricity” was the conduit to writing about my internalized emotions, which I could feel the weight of”.
