Chicago, IL, based band Torch the Hive returns to DCWS with their new single/video “Copandanda”, which will appear on their upcoming LP “Flamingo”. The album, due to drop in late 2020, will encompass the various levels of tornadic iration for those in power as well as the feeling of resilience against factors that hold you down that are outside of your control.

Furiously pointed and raw as can be, “Copaganda” is a song anxiously crafted and finalized during the George Floyd and Breonna Taylor protests in June/July of 2020. It is a song about police brutality and a response to President Trump's decision to teargas protestors outside of the White House for a photo opportunity. It intends to zero-in on a specific feeling of contentious anxiety felt by band members living in the Chicagoland-area while chaos slowly encircled around them.

The intense music video for “Copaganda”, directed by Stephen Sotor and Samuel Ghanayem, is the perfect visualization of the song, and finds the band’s performance stifled by cops with guns to their faces.
