Sydney Electronic Duo Leftprojects Releases Their Transcendent New Video "Heaven"
/leftprojects recently released their “future nostalgic” track “Heaven” and are following it up with one hell (no pun intended) of an epic video. The clip is Sarah Corry and Jono Graham’s take on heaven… if heaven was a trip.
Directed by electronic producer / singer / songwriter and creative powerhouse, Joyride at the Elefant Traks warehouse, and shot entirely on a green screen, the clip has been heavily edited to try to create a visual representation of a higher power in the female form. They took inspiration from high art, early Italian renaissance angels a la Botticelli, and the Huxleys.
“The clip idea was borne of a need to unpack how René Descartes believed the human pineal gland was the "principal seat of the soul". According to this belief, humans had in far ancient times an actual third eye in the back of the head with a physical and spiritual function. Over time, as humans evolved, this eye atrophied and sunk into what today is known as the pineal gland. Which sounds gross but many believe it holds our third eye, now covered and kept away from the world; introverted, separate and blind” - Sarah Corry (leftprojects)
There is so much to unlock in this incredibly vibrant, kaleidoscopic clip but special mention needs to go out to the goddess style costuming by Lisa Twomey, hair by Imogen Ireland, halo by Nellie Pollard-Wharton and additional styling and make-up by Sarah Corry herself.
As well as dropping this transcendent video, leftprojects are also announcing an exclusive launch show for “Heaven” at the Sly Fox in Sydney on 10 May, with support Isy Isy.
“Heaven” by leftprojects is the third track released on Exist. Exclusives VOL001, a compilation by The Kite String Tangle’s label Exist. Recordings. With a vision to release a track every few weeks from an unsigned artist they aim to highlight some of the burgeoning talent in the bedroom producer and singer/songwriter space coming out of Australia.
