Singer-Songwriter Raquel Aurilia Shares New "Pretty Roses" Music Video

When choosing the life path of an artist, quite often one is faced with the trials and tribulations of the road less traveled. The pressure of social norms can weigh down on artists, making it difficult to reach their goals without crumbling under the mass. For singer/songwriter, Raquel Aurilia, it’s been a 14 year journey that has carried her through many phases, creating the soundtrack to her life story. Her new single, “Pretty Roses” is a love song. But don’t be fooled by the cliches you’ve heard before, this is no tale of a blossoming young love, rather a story of eternal love, the kind that carries over into the afterlife.

“Pretty Roses” was officially released on Valentines Day of this year. But ahead of the official release, the artist performed the song live on Today In Nashville, a TV program on WSMV-TV. Aurilia co-wrote “Pretty Roses” with songwriter Jennifer Adan, known for her co-writing work on Blake Shelton’s #1 hit “She Wouldn’t Be Gone,” Jonathan Hamby, keyboard player for country giant, Carrie Underwood, and critically acclaimed producer, Mike Lattanzi, who’s clientele ranges from rock legends Aerosmith to public figures like Paris Hilton.  Produced and engineered by Lattanzi at Lattitude Studio South, the song takes on an overall vibe as listener’s hearts begin to break the second the band comes in. The wise singer enters the track with ultimate sensitivity, detailing a lover lost. The official video serves as the perfect visual aid to carry the message of the song. A middle-aged man brings a bouquet of “Pretty Roses” to the cemetery as he speaks to his deceased love, holding onto faith that they will be together again some day.
