New to DCWS is Jag Gatz, a talented Las Vegas based rap artist whose influences range from trap to conscious music, and he seeks to mix the old-school style with the modern sound. Focused on heavy lyricism and his commanding flow, Jag has been putting out music since 2018 and his biggest inspirations include J. Cole, Jay-Z and Drake.

Though he is inspired by hip-hop legends, Jag is truly an artist walking on his own path to success for his music brand. Speaking of music, Jag recently dropped the music video for his song “Live In My Bag”, which was produced by But Backwards. The visual for “Live In My Bag” finds Jag on a Las Vegas strip back lot blacked out from head to toe reciting the song’s verses about grinding, projecting confidence and shutting down the haters by being successful. Not overly complicated or filled with CG, the clip’s director Sniik lets the artist and the song itself speak for themselves, with no distractions.

Speaking about the “Live In My Bag” track, Jag says, “The premise of this song is that it's a play off the popular phrase of being “in my bag”, wherein one is focused, determined, and unshakeable. Hence, I displayed this both sonically and lyrically by producing a song that is hard-hitting and high-tempo with confident and dominant lyrics. It is perfect for shutting out naysayers and providing motivation for all those on the grind”.

Jag is definitely on DCWS’s radar now as an artist to watch for 2020 and beyond. We expect nothing but greatness from him because he’s showing and proving with his song “Live In My Bag” and its visual.
