Indie-Folk Singer-Songwriter Marem Ladson Drops Her "Círculos" Video

After releasing her bilingual EP “Azul” last month, indie-folk singer-songwriter Marem Ladson has returned to share the video for “Círculos.” Azul received praise from outlets like NPR, which wrote, “her sumptuous hooks and sweetly lilting vocals seem to form a language unto themselves.” Catch Marem performing songs from the new EP on Facebook Live for Earmilk on Wednesday, April 15 at 3pm ET. Tune in here.

“Círculos” tackles the concept of fate and destiny, and the uncertainty that everything we do is predetermined, leading us to ask: What if everything was already written from the beginning? “This is a universal question that many writers and philosophers have discussed throughout history, and it’s something that was on my mind when I wrote the song. If everything is part of a plan and there’s a bigger force that already knows what’s going to happen, then our lives are already determined,” Marem explains.

The video for “Círculos” was filmed in Andalusia, Spain and continues the narrative that began with from Marem’s previous music video, “No Sentir Nada.” The video follows Marem on a new journey of self-discovery as she wanders through the Andalusian caves and goldmines, trying to find her own path and singing, all this time I’ve been deluded, couldn’t do anything, walking in circles.
