Singer-Songwriter Iddie Mo Drops His Minori Ramzi Directed Clip for "It's Chronic"
/Iddie Mo is a singer-songwriter based in Brunei Darussalam. He spent most of his teenage years training in classical singing and composing background music for a few small indie games despite not knowing how to read music properly; he relies on his ears, visual patterns/structures, online tutorials and guts to create his music.
Iddie Mo had participated in a few singing competitions most notably “The Stage: Simply Vocal” where he had to compete with over 300 people from all over his country and managed to get to the top 40. Recently this year, he had participated in another local competition “Bintang Search” where he managed to be in the top 20.
His career as a singer is only just getting started, marked by the release of his first single “It’s Chronic”, produced by Nol K (front man of the indie rock band Hurricane Honey), which is about depression and the feeling of going through the motions while one waits for it to pass.
It has dispiriting lyrics juxtaposed to a more bright mid-tempo tune with a bit of grittiness to symbolically express the act of masking one's emotions and ultimately building up to a burst; which ends with a bit of spoken word in front of eerie vocalisations.
Accompanying Iddie Mo’s debut song is its intense music video, directed by Minori Ramzi.
