Emei Shares the Visual for "711", Off Her Debut EP "Scatterbrain"
/Following on from the highly anticipated release of Emei’s debut EP ‘Scatterbrain’ on the 20th October, Emei drops an official music video for the first track off the project, ‘711’. Directed by Aser Santos Jr., the video acts as a gorgeous accompaniment to this fan favourite.
Speaking on the meaning behind the song ‘711’, Emei shares that “711’ is about social anxiety and being constantly worried about giving off a bad impression. I feel like we’re all under the pressure of trying to be this person that other people want us to be and saying things that they want to hear (always being ready with the regular acceptable “party stories”). 711 (the convenience store) is often a safe haven for me and my friends after a bad night out where we can get our favorite snacks and unload. The sonics of the song is inspired by the hectic feeling of a night out and the pounding in your head from being so worried about what other people think.”
The track ‘711’ is a bright and bold single taken from Emei’s EP ‘Scatterbrain’ which also features singles ‘Irresponsible’, ‘Cynical’, ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘Don’t Know About The Word’. The EP was very well received and garnered reputable support from the likes of Wonderland Magazine, Ones To Watch and C-Heads, who described it as a project that “stands as a showcase of Emei’s journey, reflecting both her deep-seated musical talent and her commendable work ethic. It presents a potpourri of emotions, from the fervency of powerful pop numbers to the hushed introspection of tracks like ‘Dear Emily”.
