Electronic Duo Dirty Sole Return With "It's Your Life", Featuring JOHNNY DANGEROUs
/Chicago-based indie-electro duo, Dirty Sole, return with the infectious new video, "It's Your Life (feat. JOHNNY DANGEROUs). Adding to their legacy of dance-pop grooves, the duo continually finds ways to reinvent their sound, collaborating with vocalist/producer "JOHNNY DANGEROUs" of Foremost Poets.
“It’s Your Life” is the electronic music expression of how you need to write your own story. “Start it or you’ll break it; it’s your life”, sings JD. It’s the old adage of you better do it before it’s too late. “It’s Your Life” is layered with analog synths over a huge bass line, which blends perfectly under JD’s vocal. Halfway thru the song we see a melodic piano break that molds right into a hypnotizing and funky groove, to bring it all home. The single also features a brilliant remix from rhythm artist, Change Request, who slows things down and turns up the funk.
It’s a seamless transition into 2018 for Dirty Sole, who is frequently taking the audio-visual experience to bizarre depths. As the music video unfolds, you see the world at your reach, yet in quite a strange visual depiction. “Protect it, or they’ll take it; it’s your life”…
Dirty Sole is the dynamic indie electronic group formed in 2001, rooted from the storied & significant musical history of their hometown, Chicago. It didn’t take long to get noticed, as their first release was signed by dance music pioneers Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon on their Classic Music (UK) label. The record went on with multiple chart placements, alongside icons of the era, Basement Jazz & Roni Size.
The duo followed with a string of releases and global hits that saw their unique blend of house, funk, and techno appear on labels such as Yousef’s Carioca imprint (UK) and Phil Week’s Robsoul Recordings (FR). This early success landed several commercial placements and leveraged their forward-thinking sound with major brands like Nike & Toyota.
Most recently, the pair has turned out a whirlwind of new material, including a brand new album, entitled FWD Motion. The new LP delivers a crisp new stamp on electronic music as they’ve seamlessly blended the elements of electronic music along with synth pop, dance music and hip-hop, including collaborations with Lyrics Born, Foremost Poets, Jon Von Letscher and James Curd.
