EDM/Hip-Hop Artist NOMAD Releases Influential New Single/Video “Daddy Changed the World”

The massive anti-racism protests which erupted across the world in recent weeks in response to the tragic death of George Floyd were the inspiration for the newest video release “Daddy Changed the World” from rising EDM/hip hop artist, NOMAD.

NOMAD’s intention for the track and video “Daddy Changed the World” is to cut through the distraction and discord caused by rioters and anarchists and to elevate us in one united voice in support of the anti-racism movement. With respect to the late great Tupac, as well as other iconic civil rights leaders, NOMAD’s powerful prose engages the listener from the first rapped word, and intensifies as the track progresses, underscoring the gravity and emotional aftermath of the senseless death of George Floyd.

Ain’t nothing inferior about my brother

You base it off our skin and color

With his proud Hispanic roots, the Floyd murder surfaced NOMAD’s private heartache, igniting a creative journey that found him in his recording studio at 2 AM night after night, as the track came to life. Engaging his long-time production partner Ian (HYPERSPVCE), as well as new team member Kurrency, NOMAD’s incorporated extracts of speeches from iconic civil rights leaders to underscore his message that the fight has been ongoing for decades, and is far from finished.

With the release of “Daddy Changed the World”, NOMAD’s greatest wish is that this single/video will ignite conversation and motivate change.

“Our first amendment rights obligate us to hear all sides,” NOMAD commented. “When a particular perspective infringes on life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, this is when we have a problem and must speak up. “Daddy” sprung from my soul and my experiences, as opposed to simply retweeting or reposting someone else’s opinion. It is personal and deserved a very personal response.”

NOMAD continues, “Recently, a music blog’s review of the track included the opinion that there are so many socially conscious songs out now and I entered a saturated market...” The word market would imply that I am trying to profit off the pain and suffering of others, which in turn would make me no better than the very system we are fighting. It is clear that priorities need to change, even in the music industry.”
