Demie Cao Releases the Music Video For Her Song "RARI"
/Rising LA-based rapper and singer-songwriter Demie Cao has released her new single, “RARI,” along with a music video. “RARI” follows Demie’s single, “SAGE” featuring the notable DJ Holly. This is Demie Cao’s third single of 2020 and its release is yet another teaser for her first EP, Airplane Mode, expected to drop later this year.
The release of “RARI” marks Demie Cao’s focus to continue to ascend in the Chinese market. This track showcases her unique fusion of the pop and rap genres by featuring Demie’s signature style of lyricism in which Mandarin and English language is used interchangeably. Produced by Ace Hashimoto (formally known as brandUn DeShay, known for his work with Mac Miller, Chance the Rapper, Dom Kennedy, and many more), who also produced and was featured on Demie’s Korean track, “CHUNGDAM MODELS” along with Rekstizzy. The lyrics were expertly written by Demie herself along with management mate Justin Park, and Phil the Agony (member of Strong Arm Steady). The music video was filmed by Tommy Trinh on location in Los Angeles. Choreography for the video, as well as the music video for “SAGE” was done by Ellen Kim. The featured dancers in the video are Demie’s Destroyers, Blair Kim, Sabrina Fernandez, Eileen Kim, and Michelle Griffith.
Demie Cao is a Chinese-American singer-songwriter whose love of performing started from a young age as a ballet dancer. After 13 years dedicated to the art, Demie turned her focus to the music industry with her distinctive style and fierce lyrics, and energetic dances. Demie continues to grow as an artist and is training under MSTR RCKS, and in the past has trained within the K-Pop music industry in Seoul, South Korea and took part in writing camps in Beijing, China.
Demie’s official debut in China was with her single, “NIGHT VISION” which landed on Billboard Asia’s 2019 “Best of Rap: URBAN ASIA Vol. 2.” Demie has also appeared in promos for 88 Rising, CJ E&M, KCON, and has danced in music videos for Lydia Paek (YG Entertainment) and Sik-K (AOMG). In May 2020, she made her English debut in May 2020 with her single “Yung” which garnered immediate attention and landed her on Spotify’s Editorial New Music Friday lists in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
