Burna Boy Shares New Video "Heaven's Gate" Featuring Lily Allen

Nigerian reggae-dancehall artist Burna Boy has announced that his new mixtape "Outside" will arrive this Friday, January 26th via Bad Habit. To coincide with the announcement, Burna Boy is sharing a new video. "Heaven's Gate," taken from the forthcoming project, features Lily Allen and receives a visual treatment that sees both Burna Boy and Lily performing the track in barbershops, kitchens, and living rooms. "Heaven's Gate" ft. Lily Allen follows previously released singles "Sekkle Down" ft. J Hus and "Koni Baje."

Burna Boy was born in Port Harcourt City and started producing music when he was ten years old. After graduating from school, Burna relocated to London for university. After two years, he dropped out and moved back to Nigeria to pursue his passion. A creative by the name of LeriQ allocated studio space for Burna to record and produce. His father always listened to dancehall and reggae music, an early influence and integral part of his musical style. Burna's grandfather managed Fela Kuti for the first 15 years of his career, a relationship that would come to shape Burna's sound and his understanding of himself as an artist that represents Nigeria, and more broadly Africa, to the world. Burna Boy classifies his own music as Afrofusion, a genre he coined. 

In May Burna Boy headlined his first US show at the Playstation Theatre, and in November he sold out a 5,000 seat show at the Apollo Eventim Theatre in London. He was recently featured on Drake's project More Life on the track titled "Get It Together" ft. Jorja Smith, and has been featured on multiple episodes of OVO Sound Radio.
