16-Year-Old Mason Embers Shares the Visual For His Debut Pop Single “Gem"

At just 16 years old, new Atlanta singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mason Embers just broke onto the scene with his emotional debut pop single, “Gem.” Writing and recording every part of the song himself, Mason has worked with Eric Stallings of Atlanta’s The Groove Studio, Wyatt Oates of Madison Records, and ATL mastering engineer Martina Albano to bring his vision to life.
Using carefully crafted lyrics that let listeners relate the song to any situation (no specific pronouns are used), “Gem” embodies the feeling of love with a creative twist. Mellow and dreamy verses combined with powerful and energetic choruses give the song a roller-coaster momentum. “‘Gem’ is a love song for anyone, about anything,” Mason states. “I wouldn’t call it a love story, but more an experience, an embodiment of the feeling of love for something.” While Mason blends a multitude of genres into his other works, he describes this song in particular as "colorful and dreamy pop along the likes of new Harry Styles, with a hint of Jeff Buckley-esque ambiance." Gravitating to music from a young age, Mason developed a natural ability to sing. After a sudden desire to learn, he began guitar lessons at age twelve. His progression was quick and his songwriting ability was instantly recognized: less than a week into lessons, he had written his first song. Mason has one wish for his new fans. “I hope everyone who listens can get something out of the songs, something that applies to what they are feeling,” he says. “Every one of my favorite records have made me contemplate my views, my way of thinking, and my life itself.”
