The Faceless Act GOLDA Drops Hip-Hop-Esque Track "Nobody"
/The elusive act GOLDA follows up ‘NsfW’ and ‘Villian’ with the self-assured release ‘Nobody’, via tastemaker label Majestic Casual.
“GOLDA is one. GOLDA is many. GOLDA is pervertedly extrovert yet inexplicably shy. GOLDA ended up in an artisan city, getting lost in the liberating nightlife.” This is the only glimpse we have into the contradictory, drug infested world of GOLDA.
Stumbling upon tempting events, getting lost in a lonely, intoxicating nightlife - GOLDA offers the salacious antidote to the poison. The sizzling, ethereal soundscape of Lo-Fi drumbeats textured with hints of 90s R&B, fierce chords and smooth vocals capture the deliciously dark essence of the gender defying project. This latest release is looking to chase away the darkness with confident atmospheric chords and verbal self-reassurance.
With a sound that has drawn comparisons to music icons such as Frank Ocean, The Weeknd and Miguel, GOLDA welcomes the listener into a world of dark and grotesque RnB, drowning in sonic percussion and sub-bass. ‘Nobody’ is set to be the most hip-hop-esque track, offering both lyrical and atmospheric substance. The multi-layered vocals envelop the track in bended 808s and intricate hi-hat patterns, resulting in a dreamy sample of vocal chops and reverb choir.
With the imminent release of debut EP ‘The GOLDA Complex’ and a string of eclectic singles behind them, which have been supported by tastemaker platforms including Complex, This Song Is Sick and Kaltblut Magazine, the faceless act relay vivacious stories of inner conflict, vicarious satisfaction and loss of control. Come along for the ride.
