Back again on DCWS with some new DOPE music is 20 year old Queens based hip hop artist Dre A.M. With his dense wordplay and a great feel for the pocket, Dre A.M. is one of the best lyricists that you’ve never heard of.

Inspired by artists such as Earl Sweatshirt, JID, and Aesop Rock, Dre A.M. breathes new life into the underground scene with his unique style while juggling heavy handed topics such as self-isolation, suicide, and anxiety.

“Hype Night” is the lead single off Dre A.M.’s upcoming EP “Kickback Skunk”, which follows his 2021 EP “M.D.F.D.” and his 2020 EP “Imperfect Symmetry”.

On the track, Dre A.M. takes listeners on an anecdotal journey with his new single “Hype Night”, detailing his experiences with bullying and romance, all while showcasing a buttery flow over a slick, soulful beat. “Hype Night” finds him recalling meeting a woman who broke him out of his proverbial shell, and encountering a bully driven by self-hatred and a lack of self-esteem.
