Maryland Based Artist Will Schaeffer Drops His New Song "Hanging Low And High"

Will Schaeffer is an Eldersburg, Maryland based artist and former electronic producer who now focuses on creating soul stirring rock music. Will recently released his incredible new song “Hanging Low And High”, created solely with virtual instruments on Ableton. Fans of Dinosaur Jr, Spiritialized, and Nirvana will be amazed by what Will has been able to develop with this track via laptop instrumentation.

Speaking about how he is able to create music with virtual instruments on Ableton, Will says, “What you have to do is build the instruments out of virtual instruments. If you look at virtual instruments as fractions of real instruments then all you have to do is just use multiple instruments to create a real one! For example a guitar- what you do is take a virtual guitar tune the string to E (yes you have to tune virtual instruments) set a range of notes that would play on that string and then you add another virtual guitar this time tuned to A with the select notes and then another for D, G, B, E. So what you're hearing in my songs are actually 6 virtual guitars all playing at once to create a real one! Its really fun once you figure out how to do it! Its very complicated though and there are A LOT of technical issues.”
