Indie-Pop Band Fond of Rudy Unveils Their Latest Song "Singapore"
/Fond of Rudy are an indie-pop 4 piece band based in Brighton & London. The past 2 years have seen them race through a mountain of progress, the latest success being featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 show ‘BBC Introducing Mixtape’ and Amazing Radio (Shell Zenner, Charlie Ashcroft). Being featured on a number of international Hype Machine certified blogs helped the band secure festival slots last year at The Great Escape, Blissfields, Brownstock and Leefest.
It seems their success so far has been in part down to having the right music at the right time – a point further proved when they caught the ear of the organisers of Canadian Music Week and secured a showcase for the festival, which was funded by the International Showcase Fund - PRS For Music Foundation.
Fond of Rudy’s brand new single “Singapore” dwells on a perplexed feeling on being totally content yet confused at the same time. This song was written when Matt (Singer) was travelling in Singapore a few years ago. A distinct memory still remains of wandering across a completely unknown city with a close friend and feeling absolutely content, like everything just stopped for a minute.
However, being in a state of limbo with this "Friend" with both not knowing exactly what one was feeling toward each other was the adverse effect of the moment. It stuck in my head, being under the lights of Marina Bay Sands of this beautiful city and feeling both totally content/confused at the same time, so decided to pen this song “Singapore”. Throwing in production comparisons to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and The 1975 & Fickle Friends.
The single release will mark the beginning of an accelerated drive to the bands first UK tour. Having played in such cities as London, Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool, etc. There is already an engaged and growing base of fans ready to embark on a exciting journey.
