DOPEST Song of the Week: "The First One" by Astrid S
/Our new DOPEST Song of the Week, “The First One”, comes from Astrid S, and is taken from her forthcoming EP which releases this summer. On the track, Astrid teamed up with a host of globally-renowned collaborators including Jason Gill (Bebe Rexha, Zara Larsson), Justin Tranter (Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga) and Amy Allen (Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes). Reminiscent of Astrid’s break-out debut track ‘Hurts So Good’ - which has amassed over 200 million streams on Spotify alone – “The First One” is an honest and emotional reflection on the damaging effects a first love can have on following relationships.
Of “The First One”, Astrid says: “The First One” is about how your first love can affect you for a long time, often at the expense of your later relationships. I got to sing this song on tour before it was released which was a really cool experience because I was able to see everyone’s reaction and people’s faces when they heard the song for the first time. I’m so excited to put it out for everyone to hear it!”
Since first stepping onto the scene, Norwegian pop star Astrid S has become a bona fide national treasure in her home country, with an ever-growing global fan base. The pop star has over one billion streams to her name, with hit songs such as “Hurts So Good”, “Think Before I Talk” and “Such A Boy”.
