Our new DOPEST Song of the Week “Dance All Night” comes from TeawhYB, an Alternative Hip-Hop/R&B artist originating from Green Bay, WI. TeawhYB, formerly noted for his college-life, party-induced sound, took a hiatus from a budding music career while coming to terms with his personal identity. He has since redirected his auditory creativity in a kind of metamorphosis, so to speak.
"From a caterpillar to a butterfly," says TeawhYB, "it's like that break I took was my cocoon, it allowed me to grow, mature and evolve to the point where there's no way my music could be the same...because I wasn't."
TeawhYB has performed with the likes of Young Jeezy and Do or Die. Now ready to move towards the national stage, TeawhYB has begun releasing a new brand of music cleverly intertwining intimate ideas of relationship culture, mental health and personal identity with a palatable mainstream sound. Using his platform for good, TeawhYB created the Emerging Leaders Fund which provides financial assistance to college students looking for professional development experiences.
