David Stone Releases the Song, "Evelyn", From His Self-Titled Album
/David Stone is a folk singer-songwriter, musician and producer based in Barrie, ON, who wrote his first song when he was 16 years old. Since 2011, he has released ten albums/EPs as a solo artist, along with a handful of singles and live recordings, and performed all over Ontario, and around parts of Canada, ranging from large festivals to coffee shops, pubs and sidewalks. Constantly working, David’s artistic goal is to improve his craft, making his next song, recording or performance better than the last.
Speaking of next song, we are excited to share with you David’s song “Evelyn”, which is the first track you’ll hear on his self-titled album, “David Stone”. Speaking about the song, David says,
“I wrote the song for my daughter, Evelyn the week my wife and I brought her home from the hospital. The song explores the emotions, and almost intangible wonder that is meeting your child for the first time. I wrote most of this song with my wife and daughter beside me, and it's something I'm really proud of. It's also a song that seems to be connecting with a lot of other people, parents and otherwise. Love is a universal thing, so I think there's something for everyone in a song like this.”
Fans of The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Neil Young, The Barenaked Ladies, Gordon Lightfoot, or Noah Gundersen are definitely in for an auditory treat with David’s song, “Evelyn”, as well as his self-titled album. Listen to both below, and connect with David on his website and social media.
