Chynna and French Singer/Producer Oklou Share New Song "Xternal Locus"

Philadelphia's Chynna Rogers is teaming up with French singer/producer Oklou for a new one-off single. "Xternal Locus" is produced by Oklou, and the song's name was inspired by how the track came together. Originally, the two recorded the song in a Los Angeles home studio in the spring of 2018, only to lose it after the laptop that was used to record the session files was lost on the London Underground without a back-up, resulting in Chynna's ad-lib about the importance of external hard drives on the song.

Appropriately, the pair reunited online for Yours Truly and Adidas Originals' Songs From Scratch series, to reconstruct the track from memory. The song sees Oklou producing and mixing her first-ever rap cut, creating a sparse, razor sharp beat to complement Chynna's nonchalant flow.

The Songs From Scratch series documents and delivers new songs from scratch as a result of a curated collaboration that has previously featured Chance The Rapper, Kelela, Mura Masa, Fetty Wap, Tinashe, Jeremih, Danny Brown and more.
