Chris Cachia Drops "Abundant Bank", From His Latest Album "Persona"

Delivering for the hardcore lover of beats and rhymes, Chris Cachia strikes gold as he channels old-school emcee energy mixed with modern Hip Hop production in his most recent banger, “Abundant Bank.” Watch the lyric video HERE!

The track is the first on Cachia’s most recent album, “Persona”. Fueled by the fire embedded in Cachia’s flow and wordsmithing, “Abundant Bank” goes hard. Mixing personal struggles and triumphs, his style can be summarized as heavy-hitting and poignant. In sum, the kid can spit.

“Now I’m goin’ over backs so heady / Severin’ with many cut machete / Not the size of the lies and envy / Crew run done or a few run rarely / While you sleepin’ I’m keepin’ plenty / Ill with the legibly deal contrary / Deadly wreck it beast in belly / Champ for the planet now the belt that destiny.”

“Persona” achieves an increasingly rare feat: while every song can stand-alone, each track builds an overarching story. This is conceptual art and world-building at its finest. Case in point: riddled with clever lyricism and polished cadences, “Abundant Bank” paints a picture of an outlaw and out-of-place loner who will do whatever is necessary to provide for himself and his family. To evade capture, the wanted is now on the run, placed in the “Prowler Position” (Cachia’s second song on “Persona”).

Compelling art often comes from difficult places. Created during the pandemic, a time of heightened anxiety for many folks including those who, like Cachia, manage obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), the album channels this age of the mask as a take-off point for the creation of a story of sin and redemption.

Charlie McEvoy, who has been friends with Cachia since childhood, produced the album. Cachia tells of how they first recorded music at eight years old in Cachia’s basement on his father’s tape deck. Decades later, they’re still making music and honing their crafts. McEvoy operates In Tune Studios in Stratford, Ontario, and Cachia stays on the run. He is an engaging live performer who has charted on Canadian college radio and, in his other lives, is a dedicated father and husband, educator, and creative.
