Chicago Based EDM Producer Acidic Base Shares His New Track "Spectrum"

Chicago's Acidic Base is the brainchild of Siddharth Goswami. Sid was around age 6 when he first started garnering interest in music, and it was around this time that with the support of his parents, he started taking piano lessons from a local music store. Sighting early musical influences as Elton John, Billy Joel and Coldplay, he decided after a couple of years of lessons that he wanted to reach out and expand his skills by enrolling/taking classical piano classes at the Music Institute of Chicago.

His natural ability early on leaned towards creating his own song structures and chord progressions, while also gaining confidence as an improvisational musician. Sid has since expanded his interest to stringed instruments, first taking up violin for the school orchestra, and then later getting into electric guitar and learning by ear and following greats like Jimmy Page of Led Zepellin and also Mark Knopler. Sid doesn't just stop there though, he also participates in various school groups recruited to perform drum/percussion duties. Outside of music, Sid was also at the age of 9 the youngest ever tour guide at Volo Bog State Natural Area where he studied to become a naturalist.

The seven tracks on his debut album release 'Purple Skies', are a blend of EDM and progressive house styles, including elements of improvisational melody lines at times. Sid elaborates more about his craft: "I believe my music tends to be in the progressive house genre of electronic music. My main inspiration in this genre are deadmau5 and Eric Prydz, though I follow several other artists in various genres. Composing music that tells a story or one that can take the user through a theme is my passion. I see myself working more on complex and dynamic themes in some of my next few releases." Since 'Purple Skies', Acidic Base has released a string of new singles including, “Dawn”, “Tachyon” and “Spectrum”.
