Cardiff, UK Artist Blank Face is Back With His New Song "Jheeze"

Cardiff, UK based artist Blank Face blends the best elements of Pop, Hip-Hop, RnB/Soul, and Afropop to create his own stew of dopeness. Consistently dropping certified bangers, he’s back on DCWS with another on entitled “Jheeze”, and we’re excited to share it with you right now. Blank Face is going extra hard on “Jheeze” and we can’t do anything except applaud to his creativity and fluidity.
In his own words about his new song, Blank Face says,
I made this song in Sippy’s bedroom. I had this constant melody in my head saying “Jheeze Louise” which kinda means , “A saying when somebody says something and your shocked or also another word for again or oh my gosh” – Urban Dictionary. I wanted a mosh pit vibe kind of song that also is a kind of flex anthem for the new school generation listeners like Sheck Wes fans to vibe with at a concert. The lyrics are based around black empowerment and represented through phrases and figures that are commonly related to African origins.
The lyrics I talk about people viewing me as a Prince soon to become King and not a slave to anyone but the music while referencing Kunta Kinte a very popular rebel slave spoken in the history books and going on to talk about my boldness bordering on madness ‘with the heart of a lion’, another African related phrase used by warriors.
The Inspiration is drawn from the history of my country around royalty where there are a massive number of royalties due to the large number of tribes within the country. Then expanded around slave trade and representation of black empowerment passing a message that we can all be black kings and queens with the strength to fight oppression. I didn’t want to come across exclusive either and generally I want people that listen to the song to feel confident in their own skin to do whatever they want to do and be like “Jheeze! I did that!?”.
