Adding his own energy to the eclectic mix of artists and sounds that has made EDEN’s New World Tapes an inspired release, Canadian producer Alaskan Tapes compliments proceeding with his new effort “Dreamer”.
Well renowned for his knack for creating beautifully ambient music, “Dreamer” emerges in a similar vein. An ethereal, minimalist measure of layered sounds and a lo-fi atmospheric aura, Alaskan Tapes adds contrast to some of the high energy songs that have already featured as part of this project.
Such is the gravitas of EDEN that he is able call upon an array of different artists and friends, with different skills, like a JUNO award winning composer whose work spans across a plethora of film soundtracks and other visual media, as well as having his own self released work which has garnered millions of streams globally. Such is the nature of this project and that he can succinctly weave all the different sounds together on a project that just seamlessly works.
That project is the New World Tapes, a game changing and breath-taking new endeavour which has had the Irish superstar collaborate with some of the finest boundary-defying artists from around the world. Resulting in a multi-genre body of work, the project sees a new release every week exclusively on his label, with the 12-track project eventually available on vinyl. A beautiful gift despite the interesting times we are in, EDEN’s curation of artists allows a truly innovative collection of music that adds meaning and purpose in the face of the treacherous global landscape at present.
