Tell us about how you connected with Mykal Thomas, the featured singer, on your track "Come Thru"?
I met Mykal through my songwriting partner TJ Poison Pen. I was looking for an artist to do a collabo with, and TJ came to my studio with him.
What inspires your creativity when it comes to production?
What inspires me with production varies. It can be a synth sound, chord structure, the voice of an artist, a movie, a motif, many things.
How long have you been producing and who were some artists/producers that inspired you when you were learning the craft?
I've been producing music longer then I care to say, lol. 20+ years. I was inspired by the greats. Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Tom Tom 84, who was an arranger for Earth, Wind and Fire, and many others I respect in the industry.
Besides Mykal Thomas, who are some other artists you are currently working with?
Other artists that I'm excited to be working with is Brazilian jazz artist Sander Pinheiro and Fernanda Noronha. I just recorded vocals with Sander and it was a true pleasure. It should take us around the world.
What are your goals musically for the remainder of the year?
My musical goal is to continue working with artist in different genres to have peace within myself. I can’t do the same music over and over again. That's truly boring for me. I can go from trap to bossa nova. Who says I can't.
