LA Based Rapper Akajou Shares His Inspirational New Single "March 19th"
/Akajou is a talented emcee who grew up on the west coast, mainly in Los Angeles and San Diego. Now based in LA, Akajou has just released his latest song, "March 19th", which is inspired by life events since the passing of his father in 2016 due to an unfortunate motorcycle accident, and as well as his niece.
Utilizing a sample of “Jollof” by Elaquent, “March 19th”, has a bouncy, neo-soul sort of melody to it, and is the perfect canvas for Akajou to speak the truth through his lyrics with the upmost confidence and sincerity.
Regarding his new release, Akajou says that “March 19th" is a song that was inspired by tragic events that happened after the passing of my father and up until the passing of my niece (Daveigh) a week before I dropped the song. But through all those storms there is still a motivational message because I know that I'm on my way to a better place - which is what I highlight in this song”.
