Australia's breakout hip-hop star, ChillinIt, has released his highly-anticipated album “The Octagon”. It follows lead single 'Ready For The Pain', which became the #1 trending video on YouTube in Australia upon its release; as well as his debut album Women, Weed & Wordplay, which produced two Gold singles and remained on the ARIA charts for the entirety of 2019. Having spent much of last year bridging the gap between Sydney's underground rap scene and wider international audiences, The Octagon continues that mission with precision, proving to be ChillinIt's most sonically diverse and emotionally raw release.

From the tightly-wound, unbridled bars of 'Laying Low' to the rustic, broken melodies of 'Love Is Hard', The Octagon sees ChillinIt expand his vocal range and writing style with confidence; with production also ranging from the bombastic '230 Pounds' to gentle acoustic strums of 'Mama'. The Octagon is largely a one-man show, with the sole guest feature coming from Lil Dijon of Sydney boy band Triple One, who provides the overcast hook for 'Lights Off'.

Longtime ChillinIt fans will also be pleased with his trademark playful punchlines and pop culture references littered throughout the 10-track effort. An album of unbridled celebration and material excess, contrasted with isolation and self-doubt, The Octagon offers a piercing insight into the mind of Australia's most polarising rapper.

The album is set to become a crucial cornerstone of ChillinIt's legacy, and a landmark stepping stone for Australian hip-hop's evolution into a serious global force.
