“The Melancholiac II" is the incredible newly released, self-produced concept album from multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist Jacoby Davani aka JSDavani, and comprises 20 tracks, opening with “Heartdrops”, and closing with “A Beginning/Ending :Rinse/Repeat”.
“The Melancholiac II" is the incredible newly released, self-produced concept album from multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist Jacoby Davani aka JSDavani, and comprises 20 tracks, opening with “Heartdrops”, and closing with “A Beginning/Ending :Rinse/Repeat”. The album’s title is a reference to Jacoby’s favorite Dean Blunt album, “The Narcissist II”.
Along with being a music creator and artist for over 20 years, Jacoby is a behavioral analyst (BCBA) who works with children on the Autism spectrum.
He has released 6 different experimental music projects in the last year, with over 5 hours of music between them; the latest being “RE:sender -> VOL1”.

The ever consistent Raleigh artist Madison Jay has released his highly anticipated, personal, self-released, debut album entitled "Return of the Gap". Madison touches on touching topics such as parental issues "Intro", young fatherhood "Never Meant to Disappoint Ya", self-confidence "Fallen", and the realities of real life "Scriptures" all in incredible fashion.
Madison has been creating a buzz for the project with numerous mixtapes, festival appearances, and viral vlogs in recent years with hard work has paid off with he landed a slot a Hopscotch Music Festival performance in 2014 headlined by legendary group De La Soul. Madison recently attended the annual SouthBySouthwest festival in Austin, TX this year to build his emerging fanbase.
This Memorial Day Madison finally delivered his official debut album, with production from Legion of Muzik ("Drug Dealers Dream" by Rick Ross) and bulk production handled by upcoming Raleigh Producer by Sam Perez.

After releasing his debut single "All I Know" in 2014, the Chicago native received an unexpected barrage of support from platforms such as Fake Shore Drive, DJ Booth, and The Chicago Reader (just to name a few). He followed that up with singles such as "Shawty Swing," and "Down For It," which have both amassed over 4,000 plays each on Soundcloud. Realizing there was a demand for his music, Goody locked in with child-hood friend, and go to producer 1stFrom92, to create his debut project.
The album title 21 (To Anyone), is a double entendre. The number 21 comes from the fact Goody was 21-years-old when he started the project, and also because it's a blessing to reach the age 21 in a place like Chicago, where a lot of people don't even make it out their teens. The title To Anyone, is derived from the music itself. The music is very relatable, it's very personal, and emotional. It's almost as if Goody is giving you a window seat into the life of young black male, growing up in the streets of Chicago.

Bateau unveils her new album Dispatch
Bateau, the very talented Austin based Trip-Hop/RnB/Hip-Hop artist, has just dropped the follow-up to her debut self-titled album "Bateau", which was our RnB Release of the Year for the DOPEST List of 2015. Entitled "Dispatch", this project includes nine songs with production from Jay Tee, No1mportant, Humble, and O Maille and features from No1mportant (Dispatch), Gio Chamba (Ay Papi) (Si Vous Ple), DOPECAUSEWESAID featured artist Kyle Hubbard (Low), Full Metal (The Best), and Jakub Evolved (With You).
This is not an official review but after a few listens, it's clear that Dispatch is a very impressive album from start to finish and there really are no bad songs worthy of a fast-forward. It's also pretty evident that 2016 is going to be a breakthrough year for Bateau and her music. Don't miss the boat.
