Fresh on the DCWS scene is Bay Area, California musician and writer Lance Houck, who has been writing, producing, and performing all his own original music since he was ten years old. He gigs regularly in the Bay Area and also plays with a group called Iko Yaya, which specializes in Soul, Blues, Zydeco, and New Orleans styles of music. Their song "Caterpillar" was played and also later performed by The Roots on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

Lance has released several albums and his latest, “Unborn”, was just unveiled. Speaking about the 7-track project, Lance says “This is an interesting, fun, and sometimes emotional set of songs with a vintage feel to them. There's definitely a feel good quality to a lot of the songs. Especially the first five. I wrote, performed, and produced everything you hear on the album”.
