South Florida’s very own Yoshi Thompkins is shining through the darkness with his debut album, “The Sun”. The Liberty City native is aiming to bring Liberty to the City as he addresses life in the 305 and his struggles to overcome adversity, including the passing of his father and his own transition into fatherhood.

Much like the title of his project, it was his son, Zion, that brought light to Yoshi’s life during his two year hiatus from music. In the midst of learning how to balance being a full time artist and parent, Thompkins was able to find the inspiration and motivation to reemerge as a prominent musician in the Miami scene. His tenure began at the start of his career at the early age of 15 as a member of the local group C9. Yoshi has since cultivated an impressive track record with the solo records he has released and notable features alongside many of South Florida’s biggest talent.

Yoshi's growth is unmatched as his journey to “The Sun” travels through dark thoughts that ultimately transform Thompkins into a bright beacon for those experiencing the same things. His overall message can be felt in his new single as he spreads the “Power of Love” to audiences across the world. In learning to overcome obstacles and loving those around him, Yoshi was able to find ways to love himself.

With unlimited potential, the local artist from Liberty City takes his music to new heights as he flies close to “The Sun” in his debut album. He keeps the momentum going with his new single “All to Me” where he separates himself from the pack with his transcendent voice and his masterful melodies as he sings about trust and love.
