Stream "Songs For You", the New EP by Boone, NC Songwriter Chris McGinnis
/Fresh to DCWS is the debut EP, “Songs For You”, by Chris McGinnis, a Boone, NC based songwriter who since he was 13 years old, has performed in groups ranging from rock n roll cover bands to Flamenco guitar ensembles. Drawing from his Appalachian background and love of music and literature, Chris' songs utilize a unique brand of country-rock to tell tales of starry-eyed troubadours and working-class romantics. There's a sense of hope and a sense of sorrow in his music, and the songs often bounce between a sniffle and a hiccup.
In Chris’s own words about his debut EP, he says, “This project features songs that I spent years constructing and polishing these songs in a lonely college dorm room, on the road, and in the studio. It features Jack Marion of the Pearl Snap Prophets and Jacob Davis Martin, with Cory Halterman producing. These songs were the fruits of many people's labor, and I am incredibly proud of this project”.
