Congratulations on the completion and release of your EP "Szn Escobar". Who provided the production on the EP's five songs?
The beats for my EP were created by different upcoming producers; they can be found in the song credits. As far as mixing and mastering, every song on the EP was mixed by me and mastered by NeksOfficial.
Zay Laurent is featured on a very dope track on the EP entitled "Trust No Soul". Tell us about your and his creative process for the development of the song?
There was really no step by step process in the making of this song. It was kind of all over the place as far as development. I knew that I wanted a song that gave off a chill type of vibe and I knew Zay could help me create that.
For the recording process we’d just start recording on random days and add or take out things in the song as we go. The song kind of changed according to how we felt that day. We just did this until we felt like the song was complete.
Following up on the last question, how did you and Zay Laurent connect with each other and do you think that we may see a collaborative project from you two at some point?
Me and Zay Laurent met less than a year ago. When I met him we clicked almost instantly because we’re interested in the same things and we have similar visions for our futures.
We will definitely be making more songs before 2019 is over but we haven’t discussed dropping an entire project too much. Who knows, we’ll just have to see what the future holds.
With the EP now out, can we expect any visuals to be released from any of its songs?
The only visual I can see myself making for any song on the EP is “Trust No Soul” because it’s the most popular. I haven’t decided if I wanted to make a video for it yet but there will definitely be visuals for songs that I’ll be releasing soon. I haven’t rushed to make anything for my EP because if I do drop a visual, I want it to be perfect.
How would you say that you stand out from other Atlanta based rap artists?
For the most part, I think people can kind of tell when a rapper or a song is from Atlanta. Things like the lingo used in the songs or even the beats a lot of Atlanta artists use separate the music that’s made here from music that’s made in other cities.
I love that my city has its own style that people obviously love, but I want to try something new with my music. I think my EP was a little different from things you normally hear but I can do a lot more to stand out. I want to create my own sound and see where I can go with it.
What are some of your goals musically for the remainder of 2019?
Really the only goal I have musically is to make songs that people can just go crazy to. Most of my songs give off a more chill and laid back vibe but I want to try to make something that gets you hype for real.
I plan for my music to be a lot more popular before 2019 is over and the only way I can do that is to make tracks people love to hear.
