Watch BATSHIT's New Music Video For "take no requests"
Though the inaugural BATSHIT single, “Wait,” wasn’t released until late 2019, the journey began more than a year earlier for founder and songwriter Trace William Cowen. Having spent the bulk of his life in and out of several other previous projects of varying levels of fuckery, Trace—whose day job consists of writing editorial news pieces about music, television, film, fashion, politics, and pop culture at large—was once again pining for a new musical outlet. This time, however, he was adamant about getting as close to his dream of a no-compromises approach as possible.
After recruiting previous collaborator Cameron Johnson to play drums, Trace took the songs to producer and friend Jesse Owen Astin, who ultimately helmed the boards for the first batch of 10 songs at Jan Smith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Current single “Take No Requests” arguably stands as the flagship song for BATSHIT. A video for the track, co-directed by Morgan Martin and edited using the newly launched Trash App, recently bagged 66,000 views and notably features Trace in a face mask and black gloves as a sign of the increasingly strange and challenging times we live in. More new music and inventive video content will be released soon.
