Tyler Austin Brown Releases the Clip For His Debut Single "Allocate"
Coming to DCWS from Santa Cruz, CA is Tyler Austin Brown, who is debuting his music in 2020, a curated series of tracks from a lyrical archive 15 years in the making. Influenced by the voices of yesteryear, and an academic study of hip-hop and rap music, Tyler creates a new form, one that seeks timelessness over timeliness. Examining the inner workings of the human psyche and often leaving the superficial world behind, Tyler gives rap music listeners new themes to ponder as they careen from syllable to syllable upon a roller coaster of relatable emotions.
Tyler’s first official contribution to the music game is the single entitled “Allocate”, as well as its music video, directed by Rich Harris at the Soul Effective Productions studio. Speaking about the “Allocate” single/video, Tyler says, “The song itself is a journaling of my struggles with mental illness and the resilience it takes to rise above it. Put together in visual form I believe a new tone is established, and a vibe created, previously unseen in the hip-hop and rap genre. A certain moodiness paired with a nuanced lyrical form makes this stand out from most of the typical noise.”
We’ll let the song and visual speak for themselves, but we believe Tyler’s new release is DOPE, and we think you will agree.
