DCWS is excited to introduce you to Niklas Eklund and Magdalena Malm, the magnetic duo behind the Varberg, Sweden based Sand & Stones, who mix indie, pop and folk to create subtle harmonies with defined rhythmics. Their songs are often built around a guitar loop creating a touch of melancholic/meditative sound and together with the arrangements you feel the warmth and depth surrounding you.

Sand & Stones recently released the music video for their song “Cross the River”, which is the first single from the EP with the same name. Speaking about “Cross the River”, the duo say, “The song is about the life journey we make and the transformations we go through more or less consciously. With time our thought patterns change and we start seeing and experiencing the surroundings through new glasses. There is a transformation in awareness and we are making a crossover to the other side of the river.”

The music video is produced by Sand & Stones themselves and is shot in their home woods. It is reflecting the lyrics and in a playful way is showing that when you let go of the old you raise your consciousness and you reach a higher potential, you become a superhero.
