Seattle Hip Hop Artist Langston Doobs Shares "Hiii-er" Video
With "Hiii-er", Seattle-based rapper Langston Doobs creates lush, soulful hip-hop in the vein of GoldLink or Anderson .Paak.
His upcoming solo debut EP Reflections of Self was inspired by a rough period in Doobs' life, when he dropped out of college to pursue a career in music. Dealing with depression and uncertainty during this phase, he ultimately came out on the other side with a more balanced outlook on life, and this was channeled into Reflections of Self.
The lyrical groove and melodic instrumentation that can be heard throughout Reflections of Self can be attributed in part to the myriad of musical influences Doobs had growing up, from Marvin Gaye to Kenny G to Tame Impala. Ever since picking up his first instrument at 10 years old, Doobs has been writing and composing music.
Before branching out as a solo artist, Doobs founded and was part of rap collective Dead Poets. As Langston Doobs, he makes it a priority to constantly stay writing new songs and evolving as an artist, so expect to see more of the Seattle rapper.
