NYC Power Trio New Myths Drop Their Video For "Unbelievable"
A New York power trio with an alt-rock/post-punk/pop sensibility, New Myths is the collaboration of Brit Boras (guitar/lead vocals), Rosie Slater (drums/vocals), and Marina Ross (bass/vocals). The trio writes what they love, combining elements from bands such as Garbage, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and The Pretenders.
The trio have just released the video off of their grunge-heavy version of EMF's "Unbelievable." The single was released last month. Offering their own signature sound, the band delivers on a down-tempo version of the iconic 90's tune. Shot in a strobe light filled basement recording studio in upstate NY, the audio was recorded and mixed by Larry Alexander (credits include: DEVO, Steely Dan, David Bowie) and shot by videographer/photographer Chris Carroll.
“We were in the studio recording new original tracks and decided we wanted to try a cover which we hadn’t done yet. We couldn’t seem to agree on anything but then when Brit brought up “Unbelievable” we were all in agreement that we all love the song and we also wanted to cover a song that we could completely change up and make our own. Once we decided to slow down, reharmonize, and grunge-ify “Unbelievable,” we were all super down and really into it.”
