Little Simz Drops the New Visual For Her Track "101FM"
Little Simz has just dropped a new video taken from her critically-acclaimed album “GREY Area”. The visual for "101FM," directed by Jeremy Cole and Marcus Grey, travels back to the early days of Simz's career writing songs in her room and recording in cramped, makeshift studios. The video glides through time as clips of her performing and partying are weaved in with scenes from her native London.
Little Simz also recently embarked on a run of headlining US tour dates, with all shows already sold out except for stops in Baltimore and Atlanta. The run will see Simz play 10 dates through the month of June, including appearances at Bonnaroo and Firefly festival and additional dates in Boston, and Brooklyn to follow. The run will precede her debut on Netflix's cult British drug dealer drama Topboy. Executive-produced by Drake, Simz will play one of the show's leads in the third season, set to premiere in the fall.
“GREY Area” has solidified Simz as one of UK hip-hop's most potent, prolific young voices, but has also extended her reach across the globe with her genre-bending sound and the undeniable honesty of her lyrics. The new album is a glorious melting pot of neo-soul, deep funk and experimental pop, without neglecting her roots in hip-hop and grime, providing a deeply personal commentary on her life experiences alongside wider observations of society. Little Simz proves she's experienced, free, and at times ferocious - all while navigating through her world with political awareness, intelligence and integrity.
