Leah Martin and Barb Morrison Collaborate in Quarantine to Release New Single/Video "Inside"
Producer Barb Morrison and singer/songwriter Leah Martin have released the new song and video, "Inside". The two were connected in March at the beginning of the pandemic through writer Elizabeth Gilbert, of Eat, Pray, Love. Morrison and Martin embraced the global lockdown and took the opportunity to explore and document the journey through music.
“The message of the piece is to look inside for the medicine we need,” said Martin. “The video isn’t about me – it shows many artists’ creations during this time to inspire others to listen within and all rise up together.”
All the visual and audio art included in the song and video, Inside, was created during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and black lives matter protests. The work was engineered by dream team, Jeremy Kinney and Jonathan Jetter, and mastered at Sterling Sound by Randy Merrill, who has worked with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Adele, Taylor Swift, Beck, Paul McCartney, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons.
“I believe so many people have been programmed to look out for the answers through technology and media, instead of finding and listening to the wisdom we all have within us,” added Martin.
Meditation has been Martin’s daily practice for 14 years and inspired the offering to share that seed that everyone has access to, yet some haven’t tapped into for a long time. Martin’s hope is that the message shines through as medicine to comfort all during this wild world time, with the intention to inspire listeners to create their own beauty in any form through looking inside for guidance, even during the craziest of times.
