We are stoked to introduce the DCWS audience to Porterfield, an indie/jazz quartet based in Brooklyn who uses rock vocal melodies paired with jazz harmonies to create lush musical arrangements of songs. The quartet is composed of Jacob Aviner (vocal, guitar, piano), Jared Yee (saxophone, FX), JP Goldman (MOOG bass, vocals) and CBass Chiriboga (drums, percussion).

Following Porterfield’s 2018 release, “Live at Q”, they received two nominations for Best Jazz Artist of the Year from the Boston Music Awards two years running. Last year they finished up their first full length record, “Rome”, and are looking forward to the release in early June.

One of the featured songs on the upcoming album is “Always”, which was produced by Jacob Aviner and recorded at the Creamery Studios in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Along with the song’s release, its incredible music, directed by Evan Moore, was also unveiled. It features the choreography of Bo Park and danced by Julia Alaimo and Olivia Battista.
