Grand Analog Release Video for "Mutations" Featuring Posdnuous (De La Soul)
Canadian Hip-Hop group Grand Analog just released the new music video for their latest single “Mutations” featuring the legendary Posdnuos of De La Soul. The single is taken from their upcoming "Survival" EP that comes out this Friday with a limited edition vinyl release leading up to their SXSW appearance in March.
The Grand Analog sound is the perfect accommodation to Posdnuos’ legendary flow and thus a truly special track has taken the form of “Mutations”. The ‘day-in-the-life’ music video of a young adult coming into their own taps into this creative synergy to provide a visual that is completely in sync with the vibe of the song. In reference to the video, the band says “Our Mutations video takes you through a day in the life of a 14 year old boy, Nathan Leppky, in the midst of searching for his manhood. Directed by Odario, we peek into Nathan’s world as his single mother is at work. It’s shot in their humble Parkdale apartment in downtown Toronto". Odario says, ‘Nathan reminds me of myself when I was 14... time moved slowly, nothing ever made sense although I thrived to understand. And I was completely unaware of how awkward I was, living in my little bubble that seemed like a huge world.’”
Grand Analog has doubled down on the infectiousness and experimentation throughout the forthcoming EP, which features collaborations Posdnuos of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Red, Adaline and Shad. Coming from a beautiful mess of rap & roll, dub ‘n’ soul, each personality in this collective brings something unique to the table that shines through in their full band live shows.
