DOPEST Video of the Day: "Rake Your Mind" by The Velvoids
Coming to DCWS from Athens, Greece is the experimental duo The Velvoids. Comprised of Vice Lesley (Vocals, Guitar) and Dorah X (Drums, Vocals), The Velvoids originally formed in 2003. They released their first two EP's during that year and performed steadily throughout the local circuit, distributing their music and handmade merchandise at local venues, festivals, and record shops during the pre-social network era of the time. After completing their debut album in 2004, they continued to play shows and record new material before ultimately going on hiatus the following year (2005).
Fast forward to February 2021, The Velvoids have unveiled the brand new Elly Economides directed music video for “Rake Your Mind”, which is our DOPEST Video of the Day. “Rake Your Mind” appears on their full length “MOTHER” album which dropped on Thinkbabymusic Collective (Athens, Greece) last March, amidst the coronavirus lockdown.
