Brooklyn Rapper Danny Delavie Shares Official Video For "High Tide (Eyes Low)"
Brooklyn rapper Danny Delavie built an impressive following in New Zealand with the success of his 2015 debut album Saved By The Bay (entirely produced by Hamilton, New Zealand's ThiefOfBaghdad). So much so that about 80% of the thousands of SoundCloud plays accounted for on the project were amassed from New Zealand, which eventually translated into real fans (the album's lead single "Strange" eventually blazed airwaves in the country) and lead to Delavie's successful three-show New Zealand tour called the "High Tide Tour."
"High Tide (Eyes Low)" is the title track and video from Delavie's recently released EP, which documents some of Delavie's experience while on the tour in 2016.
"I decided to save my money and plan a full tour [in New Zealand], flying out MoonCulture Films for a documentary and music video... hitting the cities that my music was being played the most: Auckland and Hamilton. I sold out venues and performed at festivals, but besides that, I loved connecting with the fans and being introduced to the culture of the Kiwis by the natives in each city. It was truly a life changing experience. The 'High Tide' video is the representation of my time in New Zealand and truly reflects how making this move, and having faith in myself was the core definition of the 'High Tide' EP." - Danny Delavie
